Politico Catches Gingrich In a Clear Lie; Acquits

Generally the heart of hackery on the political internet, Politico occasionally does something right. Here, they’ve caught Newt Gingrich (first) basically calling Obama a coward for not imposing a no-fly zone over Libya, and (second) criticizing the President for doing just that. Politico explains:

It’s hard to know with Gingrich whether his penchant for this sort of thing is a product of his inexperience with this kind of media spotlight or the lack of discipline that always drew criticism.

There’s a third, more obvious answer: he’s lying. Through his teeth. And picking whatever tack he can to assault the President, not on the basis of principles, but to make himself relevant, and his party look good. How is this not clear?

  1. Oh, I don’t know. “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

That said, I am mildly amused by labelling a former House Speaker and 20-year Representative as in any way “inexperienced”.

  2. Exactly. I really do think Gingrich does (or should) know what he’s doing.

I;d like to say something provocative here but I revert back 20 plus years ago and repeat the phrase …. “NUKE THE NEWT” what a piece of work he has been.

I think Newt knows his audience. A large portion of the people who might vote for him only care that he’s mad at the brown people in the white house. The rest don’t care about hippocracy, only that he’s right on any given day.

As long as a person(s) is driven by Idologue lies don’t matter, the liar will be forgiven because it’s their truth!
